Sports Psychology and Mental Health

We have several distinct but interrelated psychology offers at Evolve. Psychological therapy is for people who are looking to overcome physical and/or psychological difficulties that are impacting on daily function, health, wellbeing, and performance. Our therapists are qualified Clinical Psychologists who have experience in a variety of different settings and who are trained in several different psychological approaches so that they can select a modality that best suits you and your needs.

We also have specialist interest and expertise in performance psychology and athlete mental health. Evolve co-founder Dr Clare Churchman is a member of the UK Sports Institute’s national Mental Health Practitioner Network, and provides clinical psychology support to The Blaze women’s cricket team and performance psychology to British Weightlifting’s World Class Program.

Using a combination of Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy, motivational interviewing, positive and coaching psychology, we work with athletes who are looking to enhance their performance psychologically, as well as with athletes who are experiencing injury, chronic pain and discomfort, and/or have difficulties with stress, burnout, anxiety and depression and other co-morbid physical and mental health problems, whether linked to their sport or not.

Our psychology sessions are held online via our secure telehealth platform.
